Nemi again. Well chapter three's up. I struggled a little to get this chapter functioning. You find a crapload of things that need to be revised when you look back on your past work. I'm still working on getting some drawings for the story up on the site. The thing is, a lot of the drawings my illustrator has done relates more with later chapters, so putting them up would be jumping the gun in my opinion. I'm trying to get her to draw things that occur earlier in the story. Let's get a move on Sam. *Pulls out whip* You are but my humble illustrator, so you must do as I demand! *Cracks whip while laughing maniacally*

Chappy 3! Yippie! A bit of conflict in this chapter between Haru and Yu-yu. But hey, without conflict, there’s no plot, and without plot, there’s really no story. To quote myself on this particular subject, “The plot is getting in the way of the meaningless man-sex!” Sigh. That’s the fan girl part of me. But the writer part of me won’t let me just type a bunch of sex and call it a story. But I think that’s a good thing... Right?

When the bell to end fourth period rang, Nemi rushed to her next hour, anxious to see Yukio after what she earlier witnessed. When she got to the classroom, she spotted Yukio sitting near the back looking very distracted by his thoughts. She watched him daydream for a few moments before approaching him apprehensively.

“Hey.” She greeted, but the periwinkle haired teen seemed oblivious to her. She snapped her fingers in front of his face, and he was alerted to the blonde’s presence.

“Oh. Hi Nemi.” He said dazedly.

“So how’s your day been?” She asked with an arched eyebrow.

“Fine, I guess.” Yukio replied casually.

            “How was your third hour?”

“My third hour? Why do you want to know about my third hour?” Yukio asked in confusion.

“Well that’s your free hour, right? Did you do anything special?” Nemi questioned with a hint of incrimination in her tone.

“..No…” Yukio’s eyebrow raised in inquiry to Nemi’s out of the blue questions.

“So what’s your favorite candy Yukio? I personally like chocolate…especially Hershey kisses. Do you have a favorite band? One of mine is Kiss. Hey, let’s play a rhyming game! What rhymes with Swiss, Yukio? Go on, guess!” Nemi bombarded him with the strange questions in succession, bluntly hinting at the fact that she knew something she wasn’t completely telling. Yukio stared at her with a dead pan expression.

“What’s going on Nemi?” The periwinkle haired teen asked flatly.

“You tell me.” She retorted in a huff.

“Nemi!” He hissed with an angry expression.

“Fine, you wanna know what’s going on? I saw you and Haru in the hallway.” She admitted with a slightly embarrassed frown.

“W-What? What do you mean?” His demeanor changed to one of apprehension.

“I was walking around the school during third hour when I spotted you and Haru. I saw you guys smooch for a sec, and then I left.” The blonde explained, scratching her elbow in a nervous gesture. Yukio blinked a few times before staring down at the floor while chewing the inside of his cheek in thought.

Well…at least she didn’t see everything. That would’ve been much worse. He thought with slight relief.

“What happened? I thought you said he didn’t know you were gay; and you certainly didn’t mention anything about him being gay too.” Nemi asked in baffled curiosity.

“I didn’t know that he was gay, or that he knew I was gay, until right before he kissed me…I’m still not sure about the whole thing…maybe it was just a mistake, or I misread something or-”

“Oh, so it was just a friendly kiss on the lips between pals? I’m not buying it Yukio.” The blonde interrupted doubtfully.

“Just leave me alone! I’m already shaken up about it…”

            “……Do you like him?”

“I-I’m not comfortable discussing this right now. I still have a lot of stuff to sort out…” Yukio mumbled shyly.

“Well you better sort your mind out quick, because you’re going to see him tonight.”  Nemi pointed out.

“Ugh…I know…I’m really dreading that.” He grumbled, his head sinking down in melancholy to rest upon his arms. Nemi put her hand on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.

“Are you going to be okay?” She asked, concerned for her friend’s well being.

“…Yeah, I’ll be fine.” He clasped Nemi’s hand with his own. “Thanks.”

Poor Yukio…I can’t believe that freaky punk is gay too! The way he just sprung that kiss on Yukio…what a jerk. Tonight is looking extremely precarious. Whatever happens though, I’m ready to help Yukio. Nemi contemplated as students began to file into the classroom.

That early evening, Nemi had her mother drive her to the pizza place earlier agreed on, claiming she was hanging out with Yame for a little while. The blond felt awkward about the idea of discussing what was actually going on with her mom, and decided that a little white lie wouldn’t hurt her. She dressed casually in some jeans that cut off after her knees, a purple t-shirt, and some sandals. As she walked up to the restaurant, she noticed Yukio peering through one of the windows from the outside. He had a simple white blouse and skinny jeans on.

“Yukio?” She addressed him while lightly poking him in the back. He nearly jumped out of his skin. “What are you doing?” The girl asked, befuddled. The aqua eyed teen spun around, panting heavily, eyes wide in fear.

“I can’t do it Nemi. I can’t go in there.” He rasped.

“You have to face him sometime.” She urged.

“Not now! Not for a long time!”

“Yukio, I’m right here with you. I’ll help you get through tonight. But you can’t let him think he got to you.”

“But he did! I’m going crazy! I’ll die if I go in there! I’ll-” His panicked outburst was interrupted by Nemi slapping him, albeit not too hard.

“Yukio, stop it! We are going to march in there and act like everything is normal, okay?” She raised her voice enough to emphasize her seriousness, but tried not to sound harsh. Yukio stared at her dismally for a few moments before reluctantly nodding in agreement. He followed the blond into the pizza place, his hands stuffed in to his pockets, and his head pointed downward. Nemi identified Haru at one of the tables towards one of the back corners of the building. He looked very nonchalant, with his feet propped up on top of the table, and his arms folded behind his head. When Nemi and Yukio reached the table, Yukio made sure to sit in the chair farthest from the dark haired teen.

“It’s about time you two showed up. I’m starvin’.” Haru growled as a waitress came over to take their order.

“What would you like?” The employee popped gum in her mouth as she spoke.

“One large pizza please.” Nemi told the woman. “What do you want on your part Haru?” She asked, trying to keep her countenance from appearing extremely annoyed.

“Pepperoni, pineapples, and mushrooms.” The elder teen answered without hesitation.

“What about you Yukio?” The blonde’s voice softened when she talked to the periwinkle haired boy.

“…Just cheese is fine.” He mumbled.

“That’s boring.” Haru snorted. “Why don’t you try something different?” He suggested. Yukio glared at him fiercely.

“What if I don’t want to?! What if I’m not ready?! Why do you have to try to push me into something I’m not sure about?!” He shouted in infuriation. The waitress gawked at Yukio like he was a psychopath, as did all of the nearby customers. Nemi ducked her head under her arms, completely embarrassed to be seen with Yukio when he was spazzing.

“…Are we still talking about pizza?” Haru inquired with a thin black eyebrow arched. Yukio slunk down into his seat, his face beet red and his arms crossed over his chest huffily. Nemi raised her head slightly to finish the order, and the waitress darted off, right after glancing over at Yukio anxiously one last time. The rest of the dinner was very silent and very awkward. Yukio nearly flew out of the restaurant when his parents came to pick him up, extremely grateful to be taken away. Nemi was relieved as well when her mother came to get her. She noticed no one came to pick up Haru; he had his own vehicle parked in the parking lot.

Nemi was happy to say she did not have any run-ins with Haru for the rest of the week. She noticed Yukio keeping to himself a lot during class, and wondered if he had talked to his “friend” at all about what happened. Whenever she brought it up, he brushed her off, or made a sudden change in subject, so she figured he was still touchy about the whole thing. That Friday, after school, Nemi walked with Yame, talking about how much it blew to have homework over the weekend. A teacher stopped the brunette to discuss something with her about an assignment, so Nemi told her friend that she wait outside for her. She started to make her way out of the school alone when she spotted Yukio looking around a corner as if he was spying on someone. Nemi approached him, interested in why the heck he was playing secret agent in the hallway. She touched his shoulder gingerly and saw him visibly tense up.

“Yukio?” She said with a bit of worry. He seemed to relax at the sound of her voice, and turned around to face her.

“Oh hi Nemi. You scared me.” He sighed.

            “What were you doing?”

“Uh…well…I was making sure Haru wasn’t there. I’ve kind of been avoiding him since…you know…” Yukio admitted with a weak laugh. Nemi exhaled in exasperation and shook her head.

            “You can’t avoid him forever.”

            “I can try.”

“Well good luck with that.” She muttered sarcastically. After a brief silence, she spoke again. “…If you need anything, let me know, okay? You’re not alone.” She said softly before leaving Yukio to himself. Yukio waved her off, and then decided to take a quick drink at a nearby water fountain. He was enjoying sipping the cool water to quench his thirst when all of a sudden, he felt a single finger trailing sensually from his neck, all the way down his back, and he nearly choked on the gulp of water in his mouth before spitting it out in shock. He spun around with agility similar to a terrified animal, his heart pounding in his ears, and his wide eyes meeting the mischievous gaze of, the one and only, Haru Hinako.

“Don’t do that!” Yukio exclaimed with a shudder.

“What’s up Yukio?” The black haired teen snickered.

“Nothing!” He blurted out while trying to escape, but was trapped by Haru as the elder placed his arms at either side of him. Haru was far too close for Yukio’s personal comfort; he could feel the heat emanating from the other’s body. His face burned feverishly.

            No…get away…I can’t control what’s going on with me…he’s so close…and I’m getting…turned on…damn it all! Yukio’s mind yelled helplessly.

“Where’ve you been kid? I haven’t seen you in a while. You haven’t been hiding from me have you?” Haru said in a low voice that sent shivers down the smaller teen’s spine.

“N-No…listen, I really need to go…” Yukio mumbled timidly, covering his genital area to hide the beginnings of an involuntary erection. Haru glanced downwards and smirked.

“You need help with that problem of yours?” The raven haired teen asked in a sultry voice, turning Yukio’s face brighter red than a fire truck.

“No thanks, you pervert!” Yukio snarled, attempting to glare at Haru, but failing to since his eyes kept wandering in humiliation.

“I didn’t know you got aroused so easily.” The elder said huskily with a grin.

            “I’m not aroused!” Yukio squealed.

            “Tell that to your boner.”

“Stop it!!!” Yukio screamed, shoving Haru away with all the strength he could muster up. “Why do you have to talk so crudely?!”

Haru scowled at the hostility he was receiving.

“I’m just being upfront with you.” The dark haired teen growled. “You should try it, instead of running away from everything.”

Yukio’s face was now red with fury instead of embarrassment.

“Fine! You want me to be “upfront”?! I never wanted you to kiss me! I wasn’t ready for it! And now the damage is already done, and I don’t think I can ever be friends with you again!”

Haru’s eyes narrowed into aggravated slits.

“You sure as hell coulda’ fooled me. If you didn’t feel the same way, why the hell did you kiss me back?” The elder hissed. Yukio froze for a moment before lowering his head in shame.

“I don’t know…I guess I thought…I thought I might not get another chance at finding someone who wanted to kiss me…I guess that’s pretty stupid logic, now that I think about it.”

“Whatever your reason is, you still did it. You can’t go blaming everything on me like I forced your actions.”

The anger in Yukio’s facial expressin returned, along with regret.

“None of this would be happening if you hadn’t of kissed me in the first place!”

“Oh, so I was just supposed to go on pretending I wasn’t attracted to you and everything would’ve been okay?!” Haru roared.

“Yes! That’s exactly what you should’ve done!” Yukio’s body shook as he yelled, his eyes filling with tears. “I can’t even look at you!” He cried out before sprinting off. Haru held his hand out in the direction the boy ran away towards, cursing under his breath.

Yukio dashed away without looking back, ducking his head as if he were trying to flee from the world. He exited the school and headed for the area where the buses to take the students home were. When he got there, he discovered that the buses were long gone.

“Great, just great! Now I missed my bus! Today is just not my day!” He sighed roughly, while rubbing away the teardrops that had formed in his eyes.

“Hey! Yukio!” Someone a few meters behind him called out. He turned to see a few people approaching him that he had been acquainted with through Haru during the summer. All three were guys; one had short black hair and black eyes, one had blond hair with brown eyes, and one had brown hair with his bangs dyed red and blue eyes. The last one mentioned was the one who yelled out to Yukio. His name was also the only one Yukio remembered; Roku. Yukio had only met them a few times, and hadn’t spoken with them since school started, since they went to a different high school. As they came closer, Yukio smiled nervously and wondered what they wanted with him. “Hey man, we haven’t seen you for a while. What’s up?”

            “Um…nothing.” Yukio replied nervously.

            “You have any plans tonight?”

            “Plans? No…why do you ask?”

“Well, you see, my parents are out of town, so I’m having a little party over my house. Me and the guys wanted you to come.” Roku said in a friendly tone.

“I-I don’t know…I don’t think my parents would like me going to a party.” Yukio explained. He really didn’t want to go anyways.

“So don’t tell them you’re going to a party. Tell them you’re going to study with a few friends overnight.”

“Overnight? The party’s going to last that long?”

“This ain’t no kiddy party buddy. So are you in?”

            “I don’t know…”

“Aw come on. Do your parents trust you?”

“Yes…” Yukio mumbled while shrugging uncomfortably.

“Then they’ll believe you, so there’s no problem.”

I don’t want to go to party with a bunch of people I don’t really know…But then again, maybe this’ll be a chance to make some new friends…

“Alright…I’ll go…” Yukio reluctantly agreed. Roku patted Yukio’s back with a grin.

“Thatta boy. Have your parents drop you off around eight. No one should be at my house until at least nine, so your parents won’t get suspicious.” Roku handed him a slip of paper with an address on it, and then the group of guys began to walk away.

…Hey…wait a second…these are friends of Haru’s! He’s bound to be at the party too! That would mean I’d have to spend the whole night with him around! No, I cannot go to that party.

“Wait! Roku! I changed my mind! I can’t go!” He called out to the teen. Roku spun around with an annoyed look on his face.

            “What? Why not?”

“Well…it’s sort of a long story.”

            “We’re not going anywhere.”

“…All I can tell you is that there’s a lot of tension between me and Haru right now. It’d be too awkward seeing him at the party.” Yukio explained while scratching the back of his head. Roku blinked in thought before replying with a smirk.

“Oh, you don’t have to worry about Haru; he’s not invited.”

            “Really?” Yukio said in awe.

            “Yup.”

“Not that I’m complaining, but why not?”

“He thinks he’s too cool for us.” Roku snorted in contempt.

“Oh…okay…I guess that sort of sounds like him.”

            “So you’re still coming?”

            “…Sure.”

“Good. Seeya.” And with that, Roku and his crew left.

What did he mean by it not being a “kiddy party”? What do people do at mature parties that’s so different? Yukio wondered as he took out his cell phone to call his parents to pick him up.

Yukio did not consider himself a good liar, and he certainly didn’t enjoy lying in any way or form. Despite this though, he did lie to his parents about the party, and it surprised him how easily they fell for his fib. They really did trust him too much. He felt guilty about it, but came to the conclusion that it was too late to turn back now. He decided he would wear what one of his casual outfits consisted of, which was a t-shirt, jeans, and a zip up hoodie.  He was hoping to just blend in with the other party guests; he wasn’t one to be the center of attention. He gave himself a brief once over in the mirror before asking his mom to drive him to the address on the piece of paper Roku had given him. Nervous as he was, he was also pretty excited. He was invited to a party by older kids. That had to make him cooler, right?

The roads were empty in the late night darkness, the only light being from the dull street lanterns. A cherry red convertible was slowly making its way around random neighborhoods, loud rock music blaring loud enough to make the vehicle shake. Haru sat inside, gripping the wheel tightly, and aimlessly driving around the town with a troubled expression on his face.

Maybe I did force myself on the kid too much. Old habits die hard… I hope he’s okay…Wouldn’t want to be responsible for any mental scarring......Jeez, I took a drive to try to clear my head, but now I’m just thinking about him even more. Maybe I should just go home… Haru pondered as he sifted through a familiar looking neighborhood. He noticed a house that stood out from the rest; all the lights were on, trash littered the front yard, loud music was playing, and dozens of people were loitering around outside.

Hey…that’s Roku’s house…He didn’t mention anything about having a party… Haru thought while lowering his speed, being careful not to hit any wandering partiers. He parked his car near a curb and hopped out, locking it with a little remote on a keychain. He trekked onwards to the house where the rave was occurring, scoping the area for anyone he knew.

Some of these people look too old to attend high school. He noticed with a suspicious frown. The front door was wide open, and Haru could already see what a disaster the inside was before he entered. He noticed a diverse amount of activities going on inside. Among them were making out, wild dancing, smoking, drinking, and doing other assorted drugs.

This party’s just asking to be busted by the cops. He thought with a frown as he ventured deeper into the home, still attempting to locate somebody he knew. Then, a familiar voice arose not too far from him.

“This party rocks!” The voice was very slurred. Haru froze when his mind recognized just who that voice belonged to. He turned and approached the area where he heard the exclamation from to find a young teenage boy with periwinkle hair a little ways away, laughing and guzzling beer from a bottle. Haru’s jaw dropped in disbelief.

            “Yukio?!”

Ooh, the suspense of it all! How the heck did Yukio of all people get drunk? What will Haru do now? Well, you’ll find out next week when I post Chapter 4!
